Who Is This Course For?
This course is designed for those individuals who have passed the Restricted Canadian Firearm Safety Course (RCFSC) RPAL course and want additional training on the actual use of handguns, best practices, and advice on equipment, shooting drills and firearm selection.
There is no exam, this material and the practical range time is meant to expand the student’s practical experience safely handling firearms in a live scenario and better prepare them to enjoy their future shooting experiences on the range.
This course is in no way affiliated with the RCFSC and the materials presented are solely the property of the Saskatoon Wildlife Federation.

- Range Rules / Etiquette
- Pistol Action Types
- Pistol (Single Action, Double Action, Striker Fired)
- Revolver (Single Action, Double Action)
- Considerations when purchasing a firearm
- Ammunition
- The Shooting Sports
- Proper Grip Pistol / Revolver
- Sights / Sight Picture
- The Trigger Squeeze / Trigger Reset
- Holsters / The Draw / Re-Holster
- Unload / Show Clear
- Magazine / Mag Changes
- Malfunctions, Misfires and Squibs
- Drills and Range Time
Course Details
- One Hour of Classroom Time
- Three Hours of Range Time
- Expert Instruction (Two Students per Instructor)
- Maximum of Six Students per Course
- Individual Use of 9mm Firearm, Holster and Mag Pouch Provided
- 100 Rounds of 9mm Ammunition
